The first long distance mountainbike trail of the Atlas Mountains
"A community based approach to tourism"Atlas Mountain Trails follows a community based approach that aims to connect the MTB community with our network of local tourism professionals in the Atlas mountains. In the remote mountain valleys of the featured trails, tourism is often a rare source of income and economic development that provides a real opportunity for youth to develop economic activities, while preserving their Amazighl cultural heritage. We aim to promote this type of tourism and economic and cultural development, far from the beaten tracks.

"Ride Off the Beaten Tracks" |
From far away the Atlas appears to have been created by giants playing in a sandbox. Piles of big stones and boulders, deep valleys, washed by time, winds and snow. Once you venture into one of the valleys you will be surprised by the diversity of the landscape. The ancient culture of its people, the Amazigh, left their signature, shaping the mountains and valleys for thousands of years. They are our hosts as the trails lead us through regions off the beaten tracks, often without any touristic infrastructure. Through the grazing grounds "Agdals" of nomads that are leading up the herds in spring and we sleep at locals "Chez l’Habitant" in traditional adobe houses.
